ENROLMENT |
Long
Day Care: |
Parents
are required to pay a bond equivalent to 2 weeks fees on
enrolment, this bond will be returned to you when you decide
to leave and after all accounts have been cleared. Fees
are due in advance on the first day of your child’s
attendance each week. Fees are payable for Public Holidays
and days when your child is absent due to illness or family
holidays.
|
|
Every September we send an offer for Long Day Care placement
to those on the waiting list and to those using Occasional
care who are interested in switching to Long Day Care. |
| These
spots are on a first come, first served basis. |
We
require a deposit of two weeks full fees to confirm the placement.
|
Occasional
Care: |
Enrolling
in Occasional Care is open throughout the year for all who
need to use this service. |
Parents
who use Occasional Care are required to pay a bond equivalent
to $100 per child on enrolment. This will be refunded when
parents notify us in writing that they no longer require occasional
care and after all fees are cleared. Parents who use both
Long Day and Occasional care services are only required to
pay LDC bond. All families utilising the centre will be required
to pay an annual registration fee of $25 per family per calendar
year. If a family registers after 1st August, the registration
charge would be $15. |
Occasional
child care is a flexible service offered to families with
children 0-5 years of age. |
Some reasons why families might use occasional child care
are respite care, appointments,
crisis care / emergency care, casual work, study, shopping,
socialisation for children, etc. |

| I
prefer to have my child in a Christian childcare center. How
do you compare? |
| Children
learn good morals and values by emulating the behaviour of
the adults who care for them. Children learn by what they
see and not just what they are taught. Therefore we emphasise
the importance of good staff relationships and Christian ethics. |
| We
teach children kindness and compassion for each other and
strive to model these qualities. We say grace before every
meal and have Bible story time every afternoon for preschool
children. We celebrate Christmas and Easter with children
and their families. |
What
type of learning style do you use? |
| Ashfield Baptist Childcare follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Its a "hands on" approach to learning, which includes learning centres, projects, themes, lots of toys at the children's level so they can pick and choose what they would like to play with; and a blend of quiet play, noisy play, messy play, and outdoor and indoor play. Children are observed on a regular basis and developmentally appropriate activities are planned according to the children's interests, needs. |

Do
you have a waiting list? |
We
have a waiting list for Long Day Care, but not for Occasional
Care. Everyone is welcome to use Occasional Care (if there
is a vacancy) even if you use Long Day Care on other days
of the week. |
How
do I get my child on the Long Day Care waiting list? |
| To
get on the waiting list you can either call and make an appointment
to come by and see the centre, or you can download the waiting
list form, and send it to us via mail or fax. |
Is your Centre Accredited:
Yes, since its inception Ashfield Baptist Childcare has been fully accredited. |
Do you have a Preschool program?
Yes, all children over the age of 3 benefit from our preschool program. Parents are able to see children in action via a slide show, and also read about the program children have been involved in by reading the daily journal prepared by staff.
